In San Francisco, designers like Wes Wilson and Victor Moscoso turned concert posters into vibrating, hallucinatory compositions — liquid letterforms, optically clashing colors, and Art Nouveau curves run through a Sixties sensibility.
Readability was deliberately secondary to sensation. Psychedelia proved that a graphic style could belong to a community and a moment as much as to a corporation or a state.
